Ten

I’ve been tagged by Chibialfa to list down Ten Things About Me as part of Fajar Jasmin’s wife’s project. Alfa thinks this is a difficult task, but for me the only difficult thing is stopping at ten.

1. I am a slow learner.
2. I love listening to speeches, even bad ones.
3. I always forgive myself for breaking the promises I make to myself.
4. I have a detailed fantasy life in which I am the world’s first benevolent dictator.
5. I understand the difference between empathy and sympathy.
6. When I sing ‘happy birthday’ for someone, I actually try to sing, not just chant.
7. I half-believe that I am the reincarnated soul of a British infantryman who died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
8. My teeth have never needed fillings.
9. I am a secular humanist, and in my fantasy life the rest of you are too.
10. My deepest desire is to travel in a rocket ship to the moon.
